ADI KAILASH - OM PARBAT TREK
Adi Kailash: The abode of Lord Shiva popularly known as Adi-Kailash is in the Indian Territory, close to the Indo Tibetan Border. This pilgrimage takes about 16 days in total and covers almost 50% of the distance while traveling to Kailash Manasarovar thru the Indian Side. As per the mythology Adi-Kailash is worshiped as the abode of Lord Shiva and has been considered the most sacred and revered mountain ranges in the world.
'Adi Kailash' is considered Lord Shiva's oldest abode. Ravana is Biggest Follower of Lord Shiva. Ravana comes from south (Lanka) to the far North AdiKailash to pray Lord Shiva. AdiKailash popularly known as Chotta Kailash is a holy place on an ancient pilgrim route in the Himalayan Range close to the Indo-Tibetan border. It is similar to Mount Kailash in Tibet in its spiritual significance. Though in a very remote area, the Darshan (view) of Lord Shiva's abode is well worth the effort it takes to get there. It is an area of great natural beauty, peace and serenity. Among the five abode of Shiva 'Adi Kailash' is situated in Kumaon Mandal in Uttarakhand.
OM Parvat: It’s a miracle of nature, the shape of valley & peaks forms natural OM. One can see white (Snow) OM on black background. No hypothesis, no assumption, & no imagination are required to visualize OM. OM-The symbol and guide to meditation connecting Man, God and the Universe Chanted at the beginning and finale of all proceedings, extolled in the Upanishads as the best and most effective symbol of God.
From Navidang "AumParvat" the miracle of nature is clearly perceptible. Snow lies on this mountain in the shape of a perpetual "Aum", the primordial sound. All other slopes may be bare but this inscription in snow is everlasting and as one observes it, one gets the feeling that the mountain itself is Lord Shiva incarnate
After reaching Dharchula, Preparation to walk on foots, porter pony arranged to carry luggage from Dharchula. Jeep is the mode of travel from Dharchula to Mangati, then by foot from Mangati to Gala, Budhi, Chhayalekh & then reach Gunji(48 km). For Darshan of Om Parvat, go to Navidhang & then back to Gunji. From Gunji travel to Kutti (18 km). Kutti to Jollingkong (14 km), Jollingkong to Adi Kailash (4 km).
From Gunji the Kailash Mansarover route branches off to Kalapani from where the Kali river originates. Onwards from here is Navidang (3987m) Lipupass is only 9 kms from here. During this trek one gets an opportunity to view the snow peaks of Annapurna, thick forests, waterfalls and wild flowers.
